Education

  • More distinguishable factors need to be put in place to convince students to come to the Connecticut public university programs above other state university programs

Work on the Greenwich Public Schools’ Board of Education

Budget Committee
  • Worked to reduce the 2020-2021 budget, as a result of necessary COVID-19-related reductions.
  • Found necessary reductions without having to lay off any teachers.
Negotiations Committee
  • Participated in collective bargaining discussions with the six school unions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cardinal Stadium Design and Feasibility Committee (Chair)
  • Managed the design of the new GHS Cardinal Stadium by facilitating discussions through the approval process.

  • Planning on putting together a building committee once approvals are achieved.

Julian Curtis Renovation Feasibility Committee
  • Currently working with the architects on the new design.
Additionally, Joe Kelly worked with the GHS Athletic Director, Gus Lindine, and GPS Superintendent, Toni Jones, to create a distance sports program as a way to encourage the coaches to stay engaged with the student-athletes during the COVID-19 quarantine. The program was extremely beneficial for our students.
